Spencer Mains brings more than two decades of experience leading information technology and knowledge management for major consulting, branding, and merchandise firms, including 16 years with Landor, a global branding firm. Spencer currently leads the technology and digital workplace mobilization for a leading environmental consulting firm, Environmental Science Associates (ESA), headquartered in San Francisco, CA.
Spencer holds a B.S. in Film/Television Production and Design from San Diego State University. Spencer’s proven success transitioning several companies from localized computing to 100% cloud-based infrastructure and building an award-winning intranet that was recognized by Nielsen Norman Media Group as a “top ten intranet in the world” are among some of his proudest achievements. He also has won several awards for corporate websites through the Web Marketing Association.
Spencer is obsessed with driving digital transformation within large, complex organizations, and has evangelized the need for highly intuitive workplace solutions. His motto that solutions “are so easy even a human can understand them” has translated into higher talent attraction and retention, as well as new business, at a number of past organizations. Highly energized by workplace brand engagement, Spencer recently drove the implementation of Gap Inc.’s technology on-boarding program for North America during his tenure with the Bay Area based retailer, and is focused on helping staff get up to speed quickly and effectively within ESA.
